Single College Student Convinced His Parents He Had A Girlfriend With A Clever Holiday Card

Around the holidays, everyone goes to visit their families. College students go home after finals, people take vacations from work to visit their parents and kids, and family gatherings are all the rage.

One thing that always happens at family holiday events is talking about people’s personal lives. For single people, that means that someone always asks, “so, are you dating?”

It can be infuriating for people who are already insecure about their dating lives, or just don’t want to have to field questions about why they aren’t married yet. Some people lie about being in relationships, while others just say they don’t want to talk about it.

One guy had an even more clever solution, though. Before going home for his college’s winter break, John Olmstead snapped this picture.

Olmstead is a 22-year-old college student living in Illinois. He loves making people smile.

He was also sick of seeing all his friends and family put pictures of their happy relationships on social media. So he decided to take his own “happy couple” photo.

Except the photo isn’t actually of a happy couple, because John is single.

John used a self-timer to take this picture.

He put on some nice white leggings, some cute socks, and a pair of women’s boots, then put his arms through a pair of his jeans and put his hands in shoes.
